The Law Offices of Jeffrey Meldon & Associates have sponsored a Scholar-Athlete program since 1999. Every week a high school senior in the North Central Florida area is chosen as a Scholar-Athlete of the Week and given a $100.00 scholarship and a plaque commemorating the event. These awards are given September through May and males and females are chosen in equal numbers. At the end of the school year a banquet is held for all the winners and their families. Last year over a 155 people attended the Scholar-Athlete Banquet. At that time a male and female Scholar-Athlete of the Year is chosen and each winner receives an additional $1,000.00 scholarship plus a beautiful glass trophy commemorating their achievement. Starting in 2003 the Law Offices of Jeffrey Meldon & Associates teamed up with TV 20/WCJB to promote the event widely on TV 20. We have had a record number of responses over the past year and the program is now firmly entrenched within all the high schools in North Central Florida.

The Law Offices of Jeffrey Meldon also hosts Law Talk Live every Saturday morning at 10:30 on The Sky/97.3 FM. This program discusses a broad range of legal issues and discusses individual legal questions with listeners who call in. The program is now entering its 8th year and continues to provide valuable information to the community.

Starting in September 2004 the Law Offices of Jeffrey Meldon & Associates became a major sponsor for the One for the Community Program. The goal of One for the Community is to provide necessary funding for education and non-profit causes. Last year school and community organizations raised more than $100,000.00 locally for causes such as school computer labs, college scholarships, health care and research and community park improvements. The money is raised by selling discount coupon books throughout the Alachua County Public School system. Jeffrey Meldon will be seen frequently on WCJB/TV 20 as a spokesman for the program.

Since 1997 Jeffrey Meldon has been the chairman of seminars for The Florida Bar Association and has started a scholarship program for public defenders to attend these important continuing legal education programs.

Jeffrey Meldon has been on the Florida Bar Civil Procedure Rules Committee since 2002 and this year was on the sub-committee for the Legal Needs of Children Throughout the State of Florida.

The Law Offices of Jeffrey Meldon & Associates also sponsored the Meldonlaw.com baseball team in the Micanopy District Babe Ruth League. The team was the runner up in the Majors Division 2004 Championship.
